Surviving & Feeling Refreshed At The Ormeau Fair
Some Quick Tips To Ensure Your Stay Fresh For The Whole Weekend
Who's idea was it to stand around for 2 full days at the
Ormeau Fair...Marketing?!?!?!
We want you to have an enjoyable Fair and we have compiled some simple tips to ensure you stay
on top of your game and are able to generate plenty of business and most importantly some follow up business after
the Fair.
Sunshine, beautiful weather and a cool breeze are part and parcel of this wonderful place called
the Gold Coast. Despite being in Winter, you can be assured it will be reasonably hot out at the Ormeau Fair for
both the Saturday and Sunday.
In these conditions you are going to have to stay hydrated and drinking lots of water should be
your priority. Studies show people lose concentration, become irritable, have headaches or migraines and get sore
eyes when dehydrated. Bring an esky with ice and water and stay hydrated for the whole day.
Following on from drinking lots of water is dehydration's 'sister' and that is not having enough
food. Take small snacks with you to 'graze' throughout the day to ensure you aren't starving. Regular small snacks
mean you won't feel bloated at any time and your energy levels will remain high.
Smiles are free so give them generously. People like friendly people so do your best to keep a
nice smile on your face and be approachable.
-
Wear comfortable footwear
Standing around for 2 full days does take its toll. 1st impressions are vital and if you are
sitting down, potential clients might get the wrong idea and think you aren't that interested in doing
business.
Your best bet is to stand up, smile and be approachable and doing this does take its toll on
your feet. As a result it goes without saying to wear comfortable shoes. Rubber soles or good inserts will do the
trick. Just in case, bring some band aids along.
-
Rotate the people on your stand
If possible (if you have more than 1 of you running the business) put together a roster that
ensures 1 person will always be on the stand whilst others take a lunch break. Better still, bring a nice fresh
lunch along so you can always be available when potential clients are nearby.
So as you can see from the above list, it isn't rocket science running a stall at a fair but you
do need to keep the basics in check to ensure you have a productive and enjoyable weekend.
See you
