Once again we promise a fantastic range of activities for 2 days of fun and entertainment 

We will again be featuring fireworks on Saturday evening, together with a wide range of song and dance, courtesy of our local groups

• Time: Saturday: 9am to 9pm - Sunday: 9am to 4pm

 Council regulations make Brien Harris Oval  a no smoking, no dogs venue.

ROUNDUP OF THE 2012 FAIR

Yet again the 2012 Ormeau Fair was a resounding success. We were fortunate to have great weather and our "Mini Ekka" has become one of the year's major attractions of the Northern Gold Coast. We are going from strength to strength in both the number of visitors and the number of events and stallholders. This has been largely as a result of Norm Jessen's vision and hard work. Unfortunately Norm has moved away from the area and though he will still be around to give advice and counsel he will not be as heavily involved in the event as previously.

The Ormeau Fair is Ormeau Lions' major fund-raising event of the year and as a result of this success we were able to increase our donations and disbursed nearly $40,000 to charities and local community groups. In fact, since the start of the fair back in 2007 the Lions Club of Ormeau has made donations of over $190,000.

Wide range of activities for children and families ... As your local councillor, I'm delighted that the 2013 Ormeau Fair will again be held at Brien Harris Oval. The Fair is one of the area's annual highlights and Ormeau Lions invite your participation again this year.   I look forward to seeing you over the weekend as we all enjoy the wonderful program of activities, stalls, competitions and rides on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th of August. All funds raised are redistributed within the area, and I know you'll join me in supporting the Lions who give so much to our growing community. Best wishes Donna Gates - Councillor Division 1

The History of Ormeau Fair started as a dream and has grown beyond many people's wildest expectations and now provides a great deal of opportunity for exhibitors and the Ormeau Lions Club to raise money for the local community. It truly is a community effort with people from all age groups chipping in to help out to make the fair a memorable experience.

On this site you will be able to get a good feel for what the fair is about by viewing the Photo Gallery or checking out the Top Ten Fun Things to do at the Fair. There is also a great range of kids activities to keep them entertained and off your hands whilst you check out some of the local talent on the Stage shows. 

Along with the phone kids entertainment we have arranged for Dennis Dingo Dryden to perform his show. Dennis is well known at all the festivals and shows all around Australia and we look forward to having him perform at the Ormeau Fair.

Remember all monies raised go back into the local community The Ormeau Fair continues to grow rapidly each year.  I am delighted, once again, to show my support to the Lions Club of Ormeau.  I'm sure the Ormeau Fair will be yet another resounding success in 2013. Admission and parking is free with two full days of entertainment for the whole family. Come along join in the fun and games and show your support to the Lions Club of Ormeau and the many volunteers who make this event possible. Saturday night for many is the highlight of the show with Fireworks and a free movie session. Bring your deck chairs down and a warm blanket and snuggle up and watch a movie on the big screen. What a great way to finish the day!

Building Strong Communities   The Ormeau fair has become a community institution that continues to grow rapidly every year. This year’s fair will be held on the weekend of 10 and 11 August at the Brien Harris Oval. This is a fantastic event and I am sure this year’s fair will be better than ever. The fair promises to be an action packed weekend for the whole family and I encourage Albert residents get out and support this great event. I would like to congratulate the Lions Club of Ormeau for organising this special event where all profits go back into our community.
