The Ormeau Fair is fast becoming the Gold Coast's Number 1 attraction and over the last 3 years tens of thousands of visitors from near and far have experienced what many say is the 'Ekka in our backyard'.

	The Ormeau Fair has been a long tradition at Brien Harris Oval and I look forward to again participating in the weekend's events on the 14th and 15th of August 2010. The event attracts thousands of locals every year and is an opportunity for children and families to enjoy a wide range of activities, and pick up the odd bargain from one of the many stalls. Last year, Ormeau Lions introduced evening movies which were hugely popular and it is hoped that this can again be a feature of the 2010 event. I look forward to my involvement and urge members of the community to participate wherever possible. Remember that funds raised are used by Ormeau Lions to help members of our own community and I encourage you to donate to the Fair, with your time, produce or participation on the day.

The History of Ormeau Fair started as a dream and has grown beyond many people's wildest expectations and now provides a great deal of opportunity for exhibitors and the Lion's Club to raise money for the local community. It truly is a community effort with people from all age groups chipping in to help out to make the fair a memorable experience.

On this site you will be able to get a good feel for what the fair is about by viewing the Photo Gallery or checking out the Top Ten Fun Things to do at the Fair. There is also a great range of kids activities to keep them entertained and off your hands whilst you check out some of the local talent on the Stage shows. 

Along with the phone kids entertainment we have arranged for Dennis Dingo Dryden to perform his show. Dennis is well known at all the festivals and shows all around Australia and we look forward to having him perform at the Ormeau Fair.

	As the newly elected member for the new State Seat of Coomera it gives me great pleasure to be involved this year in the Ormeau Community Fair. What a wonderful and memorable experience for families and friends in our community. I remember last years fair when my wife Pauline and I took our grandchildren to enjoy the rides and festivities. Congratulations to the Lions Club of Ormeau for dedicating their time and effort in raising funds for the community and to the many volunteers and supporters in making the fair possible. I look forward to seeing you this year!

Saturday night for many is the highlight of the show with Fireworks and a free movie session. What a great way to finish the day!

A huge Thank You goes to the Sponsors and Exhibitors of the fair as they provide so much support and financial backing to make this happen. Without their assistance the Ormeau Fair simply wouldn't exist so its with a lot of gratitude the Ormeau Lion's Club says Thanks.

	The Ormeau Fair has been a wonderful and long-standing tradition for the people of our area. I am looking forward to this year's event, and encourage as many residents as possible to attend and support the Lions in the great work they do for the Albert community.
